JAMHI Health & Wellness, Inc. is seeking a mission-driven and dedicated Community Housing Support Specialist who can help our organization thrive as we help people live their own best lives. Join us as a Community Housing Support Specialist and play a key role in supporting individuals in building stability, independence, and connection within the community. Reporting to the CHSS Support Specialist Supervisor, you will provide individualized, community-based support while helping clients stay engaged in services, coordinate appointments and care transitions, and develop and maintain daily living skills. This role focuses on promoting safe, stable housing environments, including ensuring Assisted Living Home Standards are met at assigned locations, while supporting person-centered goals and overall wellbeing. This position balances direct client interaction with essential administrative responsibilities such as documentation and care coordination. You will also help foster a supportive, structured environment that encourages independence and long-term stability, ensuring clients remain engaged, supported, and successful in both routine and more complex situations.

 
Minimum Qualifications: 
Education and Experience:
  • Two years of experience providing direct behavioral health services to individuals with severe mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
    • Post secondary education in a related field can substitute on a year to year basis for up to one year of experience.
License/Certification:
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to clear JAMHI auto insurance screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Coursework in behavioral health, social work, or a related field
  • Training in Mental Health First Aid, Crisis Intervention, or Motivational Interviewing
Pay rates offered are determined based on a standardized scale that considers relevant experience and education.
 
 
All JAMHI positions require the ability to pass a criminal background check in accordance with the current state regulation requirements and a valid Alaska driver’s license and be able to clear the JAMHI auto insurance screening through the independent insurance carrier and/or if driving
