The Health Bureau is seeking an experienced and motivated Community Health Nurse Supervisor to lead and oversee critical public health programs serving our community. Commercial Building Plans Examiner
Department CED/Code Enforcement Type of Position Full-time Salary/Pay Rate $68,500 - $90,000 Deadline to Apply ongoing MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Current certification through the state of Pennsylvania in commercial building plans examination, commercial building inspector, accessibility plans examiner/inspector required and commercial energy plans examiner preferred. Considerable responsible experience in building construction plans examination and inspection work, and completion of a standard high school course; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. NATURE OF WORK PERFORMED A Commercial Building Plan Examiner is responsible for seeing that plans, specifications and buildings in the process of construction meet all requirements of relevant codes, standards, specifications and ordinances; inspects construction documents to ensure compliance with International Code Council, Uniform Construction Code and ANSI standards; ability to communicate both written and orally to design professionals regarding submitted plans; reviews new or difficult construction issues with the Chief Building Inspector and licensed designed professionals as required; regularly exercises technical judgment and discretion based on familiarity with the various construction ordinances and regulations for which he/she is responsible for enforcing; reports to the Chief Building Inspector. Utility Maintenance Mechanic - Wastewater Treatment Plant
Department WSR/WWTP Type of Position Full-time, union Salary/Pay Rate $29.30 per hour Deadline to Apply ongoing MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience and training in mechanical maintenance, electronics, and electrical, preferably in the maintenance of wastewater equipment. Experience with troubleshooting and repair of pumps, motors and valves, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment. Possession of a high school diploma or GED supplemented by course work in the instrumentation, mechanical and electrical fields. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED Performs preventive and corrective maintenance work on pumps, motors, valves and flow/level related equipment throughout the Plant; repairs or replaces piping, electrical wiring, hoses, belts, chains, bearings, sprockets, etc. in the maintenance of facilities; inspects, monitors and maintains operational process units, including bar screens, grit conveyors, clarifiers, aeration tank units, and chlorination facilities; inspects, monitors and maintains biosolids process units, including digester mixing, heating, gas storage units, gravity belt thickener units, and biosolids dewatering equipment; maintains inventory of operating materials and repair/replacement parts; keeps detailed, accurate maintenance records on all work performed. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools and equipment for skilled technical, mechanical, electrical and electronics work in the maintenance and repair of wastewater facilities; knowledge of operations/maintenance of pumps, motors, and wastewater equipment; must have good mechanical ability and pass a Mechanical Aptitude test; knowledge of occupational hazards and ability to maintain a safe working environment; ability to properly utilize operation and maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, CMMS programs, tools and testing equipment of the electrical, electronics and mechanical trades to perform preventative and corrective maintenance actions; must be computer literate; required to work in inclement weather and non-standard hours, including on-call and overtime shifts; ability to climb, bend, stoop, twist, and lift moderate to heavy items repeatedly and stand for long periods of time.
