Job Summary
The Community Health Navigation Coordinator manages, implements, and expands community health and wellness initiatives across Curry County in alignment with priorities set by the Curry County Health Council, County Management, and state or federal grant funding agencies. This role includes becoming a certified New Mexico Medicaid Presumptive Eligibility (PE) Determiner to assist County residents and individuals within the Curry County Detention Center in accessing Medicaid and essential healthcare assistance. The Coordinator serves as a liaison between the County and the public by coordinating public health events, connecting individuals to vital community resources and promoting overall countywide health and wellness. This is a full-time position and is dependent upon available grant funding.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate, with some college strongly preferred in business, psychology, or a health-related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) year experience in an office setting and coordination of event experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing and be able to read and write in English, bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to transcribe material, use proper grammar in correspondence, perform a variety of management and office duties involving volunteers.
  • Familiar with insurance and medical claims preferred.
  • Must have strong organization skills.
  • Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Canva and Excel.
  • Ability to interact professionally with supervisor, subordinates and other co-workers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in private and public settings with large and small groups of people.
  • Ability to work independently of daily supervision and to exercise discretionary judgment and thinking.
  • Ability to engage, direct, and lead the Health and Wellness Programs for the County.
  • Must have a valid NM Driver’s License. No DWI conviction within the past three (3) years.
  • Ability to perform all essential duties as listed below.

  • Must comply with safety guidelines and policies of the County.
