Pay Range: $15–$17 per hour
Employment Type: Seasonal, Part-Time (10-15 hours/week)
Season Timeline: July–November, with the possibility of extension based on program needs and performance

Job Description
The Community Education Specialist supports the planning, delivery, and evaluation of Trailblazers educational programs by assisting with class facilitation, participant engagement, equipment management, and event logistics.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a hands-on, community-focused environment. This role collaborates closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners across Benton and Washington counties to deliver free and low-cost educational programs and events that promote active transportation, trail use, and community connectivity.
Through Trailblazers Community Classes, we provide accessible educational opportunities that equip community members with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to safely navigate their communities, ride bicycles, and explore local trails.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with facilitation of community classes, supporting instructors and participants
Serve as the equipment manager for community classes, including organizing, maintaining, and transporting supplies
Load and unload equipment before and after classes and events
Support setup and breakdown of class sites
Act as lead or co-lead instructor for community classes
Provide hands-on support to participants in a safe, encouraging manner
Assist with outreach and promotion of community classes, including taking photos, distributing flyers, and supporting social media efforts
Support event logistics, including scheduling, preparation, and on-site coordination
Qualifications (Required)
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Availability to work evenings and weekends
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Willingness and ability to drive a truck and trailer to classes and events
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Must successfully pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
Comfortable using a camera and social media platforms for basic content creation and event promotion
Basic bicycle maintenance knowledge or a willingness to learn
Passion for promoting bicycling, walking, trail use, and other forms of active transportation.
Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are a plus
