District 214 Community Education Core Aquatics program is hiring an Assistant Swim Coach
As the Assistant Swim Coach, you'll be the Head Coach's right hand. You aren't just standing on the deck; you are a mentor, a strategist, and a key player in fostering a team culture where every swimmerfrom the record-breaker to the newcomerfeels welcome and challenged.
This position is supervising the Senior Athletes on the Nave Practice Squad, with the possibility of working with other squads as needed.

HOURS: Part-time, must be available evenings and/or weekends
LOCATION: various District 214 school locations
SALARY: $23 - $30 per hour based on experience
General Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Swim Coach in instructing athletes on rules, regulations, and techniques of the sport.
- Organize and direct individual and group practices as directed by the Head Swim Coach.
- Assesses swimmer's skills, monitors athletes during competition and practice, and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of athletes.
- Maintain regular and timely attendance
- Know and follow all District policies and procedures.
- Provide first aid and CPR as required.
- Familiar with the facility Emergency Action Plans and respond appropriately to all emergencies.
- Foster a welcoming environment for new athletes with the goal of retaining swimmers.
- Enforce facility and team rules
- Fill in for Head Swim Coach when needed.
- Share ideas and collaborate with District staff, athletes and peers.
- Ensure completion of all required training and certification per District and USA Swimming,
- Provide information and attend meetings as necessary to facilitate positive and successful communication between entities.
- Attend all pertinent District meetings and trainings.
- Represent the District and actively participate in USA Swimming when called upon.
- Attend awards banquets and governing meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- First Aid/CPR certified and current USA Swimming membership preferred
- Must pass a background check.
- 1-3 years of club, high school or college swim coaching experience
- At least a high school diploma
- Must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new programs.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter and highly motivated to drive growth.
