SUMMARY:
Assists with the facilitation of preschool programming. Reports to the Preschool Program Manager and supervises the implementation of a developmentally appropriate preschool program. Supervision and evaluation of preschool staff. Supports a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth while making sure an effective rapport is established with students, families, staff members and outside community agencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Preschool Coordinator will be 21 years or older and have a minimum of 12 months of child care experience, a high school or high school equivalency diploma, AND:
Three credit hours or more in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field from an accredited college or university, OR
At least 30 actual hours of instruction, provided in conferences, seminars, lectures, or workshops in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field; AND
At least 12 months of child care experience AND An N.A.C., C.D.A., or C.C.P. credential; OR
At least 24 credit hours from an accredited college or university, including at least six credit hours in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field; AND
At least six months of child care experience and an associate degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field; OR
At least three months of child care experience and a bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field

Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work, and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light work.
Working Conditions:
Work is routinely performed in an indoor, school environment, however outdoor work is sometimes required.
