Description

Schedule/Hours: M-F Full time 35 hours/weekly

Pay Range: $20.85 - $23.45

This position is responsible for:

Supervising and monitoring the day-to-day operation of a Community Center including operation hours, facility maintenance and security, program development and promotion, and recreational activities; ensures center operates in compliance with The Salvation Army mission, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises the work of Community Center personnel; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures; conducts performance evaluations and provides salary and hiring/firing recommendations.
  • Researches, plans, develops, schedules, promotes, implements, and monitors recreational programs and activities for all age-groups based on the needs and interest of the local community.
  • Determines funding needs; develops and implements fund-raising activities to generate funds for programs i.e. canteens and dispenser machines, etc.
  • Schedules, facilitates and/or supervises activities occurring at the center such as sporting events, craft classes, games, field trips, etc.; monitors activities hosted or conducted by outside groups.
  • Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and reports regarding the Community Center programs and statistics.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis; ability to move heavier equipment on an occasional basis (up to 50 lbs.
  • Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.

Education:

  • Two year college or technical school degree in Physical Education, Social Work or a related field, AND
  • Three years progressively responsible experience developing and implementing recreational programs with at least one year in a supervisory capacity, OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Completed D.C.F Training Requirements

Child Care Regulation Certificate

Valid State Drivers License

C.P.R and First Aid Certification
