Job Summary:

SUNY Upstate is seeking a highly motivated Advanced Practice provider to join the Community Campus Cancer Center to collaborate with Oncology physicians and a multidisciplinary Oncology team to provide care for Oncology patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the attending physicians, providing comprehensive health assessments and develop plans of care for Hematology/Oncology patients.
  • Conduct medical health histories, physical examination, developing plans based on clinical diagnoses and problems.
  • Analyze diagnostic testing and laboratory results, and ordering interventions based on clinical assessments.
  • Incumbent will consult with physicians for abnormal findings as appropriate and assist in planning and ordering care and treatment for patients requiring triage. Incumbent will actively participate in quality improvements working on teams and committees.
  • APP will actively participate in quality improvements working on teams and committees.

As an APP, you will be an integral member of the Cancer Center Healthcare Team, demonstrating professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to Upstate's mission, vision, and values, while adhering to all institutional policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.
  • Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice.
  • Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
  • CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in Oncology area preferred.

Monday - Friday, Days
