GovCIO is currently hiring for a Communications Systems Specialist to Analyze, evaluate, and recommend solutions to future communications and operational challenges for various satellite systems. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX and will be an onsite position.
Responsibilities:
Provides installation, technical expertise, and training for all communications equipment and components. Installs, configures, terminates and tests all telecommunications equipment, cables, connectors, and interfaces. Performs intricate alignment and calibration procedures to ensure telecommunication systems are operating efficiently. Maintains telecommunication equipment and component inventory, asset management, media production equipment and facilities as well as fixed installations at various company and/or client sites. Resolves system operational problems by troubleshooting and performing fault isolation. May supervise communications technicians, outside contractors providing technical support and media production services.
Responsible for engineering and/or installation activities within the telecommunications function including network design, engineering, implementation, diagnostics and operations/user support.
Monitors the operation of telecommunication network systems and transition mediums.
Performs complex tasks relating to telecommunication network operations, installation, and/or maintenance for local, off-site and/or remote locations.
Serves as technical specialist for the resolution of complex network problems.
Ability to set up and troubleshoot SATCOM Terminals
Provides field reporting as required.

Qualifications:
High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI
Experience with DoD NIPR, SIPR and AFSCI Networks
DoD 8140 IAT II certifcation
Ability to provied 24/7 support
Preferred Skills and Experience
Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices
A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment
