Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, digital media, or related field OR substantial equivalent professional experience
Excellent writing, editing, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated professional experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign
Demonstrated experience managing or developing content for professional or organizational social media platforms
Ability to independently manage multiple communications projects simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines consistently
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
Photography and/or video editing experience
Experience with WordPress, email marketing platforms, and social media scheduling tools
Experience working in nonprofit, healthcare, education, or human services environments
Experience supporting fundraising, recruitment, or public relations initiatives
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Create professional written, visual, and digital communications materials supporting organizational goals and initiatives
Independently develop content for social media, fundraising campaigns, recruitment efforts, donor communications, newsletters, press releases, website updates, and event materials
Design and edit marketing materials using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign
Manage social media planning, scheduling, content development, audience engagement, and campaign execution
Monitor and analyze social media engagement and audience metrics
Visit program sites regularly to gather stories, photography, video, and mission-related content
Capture and edit visual assets for digital and print communications
Assist with maintaining organizational branding consistency and communications standards
Support fundraising campaigns, sponsorship initiatives, donor stewardship communications, and organizational events
Maintain communications and project calendars while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Collaborate with departments across the organization to identify communications opportunities and organizational highlights
Provide event coverage, including occasional evening and weekend responsibilities
Perform additional duties as assigned
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Ability to travel between program locations and event sites
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Ability to work comfortably in active residential and day program environments
Ability to interact professionally with diverse populations and community stakeholders
The Communications Specialist supports organizational marketing, communications, fundraising, recruitment, public relations, and community engagement efforts through professional content creation, storytelling, social media management, photography, graphic design support, and digital communications activities.
This position plays a critical role in communicating the mission and impact of Cooperative Production through high-quality written, visual, and digital communications materials. The role requires an individual who can independently produce professional communications content while maintaining organizational branding and messaging standards.
The position requires regular interaction with individuals in our care, staff, leadership, families, donors, community partners, and vendors across multiple program locations
