Lead site execution for mission-critical cabling builds

Step onto the site each morning as the point person for low‑voltage network infrastructure. You’ll partner directly with the onsite Project Manager to translate plans into action—aligning crews, trades, materials, and safety to deliver structured cabling projects on time and to spec.

A day in the role

  • Start with a schedule review and milestone check against the Project Manager’s directives, then brief Leads and capture their updates for the weekly report.
  • Walk the site to verify safety conditions, manpower allocation, and productivity adherence across multiple crews.
  • Coordinate work sequencing with Field Engineers and other trade partners; validate required materials are on hand for the build.
  • Survey completed work with the QA/QC Specialist before the Field Engineer walkthrough to ensure quality meets customer standards.
  • Coach Leads—recognize strengths, close gaps, and recommend targeted training so teams consistently follow customer rules, guidelines, and processes.
  • Support both new deployments and live site/production requests; help teams engage with new technologies, manufacturers, and software with the support of project management.
  • Attend customer design/build review meetings as requested and make sure safety certifications and standards are met during and after installation.

Core responsibilities

  • Report directly to the onsite Project Manager; attend weekly syncs.
  • Track quality, efficiency, and delivery; validate project data and progress.
  • Manage and control labor across assigned projects and forecast manpower and labor units.
  • Oversee milestone attainment, site safety, and productivity adherence.
  • Ensure documentation is complete—maintain build records, team paperwork, and Lessons Learned for each project.

What you bring

  • 5+ years preferred in structured cabling installation (copper and fiber), rack infrastructure, and leadership on large-scale builds.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple crews and run midsize to large projects in a high‑pace environment.
  • Strong planning and time management; clear, concise written and verbal communication.
  • Fluency with drawings/blueprints and portmaps; solid understanding of infrastructure builds and components.
  • Hands-on knowledge of copper and fiber installation, terminations, certifications, and troubleshooting.
  • Certifications: CFTT and CFI, or equivalent (BICSI or FOA).
  • Exceptional customer service; knowledge of local installation standards and codes.
  • Documented leadership and the ability to identify team members’ strengths and support their growth.
  • Clear understanding of job safety requirements and points of contact.
  • Competency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.

Physical requirements

  • Primarily walking, standing, and bending for extended periods, with some sitting.
  • Effective communication using verbal, written, visual, and listening skills.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and computer peripherals.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; pull cables; climb ladders; work on raised platforms.

Technical proficiency

  • Construction Management
  • IT Equipment (Servers, Networks, Telecom, Cloud)
