Communication and Community Engagement Specialist
The Town of Cohasset seeks a creative and organized Communication and Community Engagement Specialist to support townwide communications, public engagement, media relations, and administrative operations in the Town Manager’s Office.
This position will prepare news releases, public notices, FAQs, project updates, website and social media content, graphics, photos, videos, and other communication materials. The role also supports emergency and service disruption messaging, public awareness campaigns, the Town’s Annual Report, and meeting materials for the Select Board and other public boards.
The ideal candidate will have strong writing, editing, storytelling, social media, graphic design, and video production skills. A bachelor’s degree is required. Experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Owl Labs, Polycom, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools is required. Evening and weekend hours are a regular part of this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Bachelor Degree in marketing or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with government communications.
Salary and Schedule:
This is a part-time, 19 hour-per-week position classified at Grade A3($34.62 - $41.37 Hourly). Some evening work and emergency response availability are required.
