    What You'll Lead

    You'll be the strategic driver behind Wake County's Communicable Disease Program, providing leadership across core public health services, including:

    • Communicable Disease Surveillance: Monitor infectious disease trends, respond to outbreaks, and guide data‑driven decision‑making.
    • Tuberculosis Prevention & Control: Oversee clinical operations and ensure evidence‑based care.
    • Refugee Health Services: Support culturally responsive health assessments and care coordination.
    • Disease Intervention Services: Lead a dedicated team working to reduce disease transmission and empower community members.
    • Health Education & Outreach: Champion public health messaging that informs and protects all residents.

    What You'll Do

    • Set program goals and move teams toward them with clarity, motivation, and accountability.

    • Develop innovative strategies to strengthen infectious disease surveillance, prevention, and intervention efforts.

    • Analyze epidemiological data to shape actionable insights and program improvements.

    • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

    • Manage budgets, grants, contracts, and program performance metrics.

    • Partner with healthcare providers, schools, long‑term care facilities, and cross‑agency leaders.

    • Lead and support multidisciplinary teams, including:

    • Communicable Disease Surveillance Team

    • Tuberculosis & Refugee Health Clinic

    • Communicable Disease Quality Assurance Team
