Commodity Sourcing III (Indirect)-Contingent Worker

The Site Sourcing Specialist will participate in or lead special projects related to the Sourcing function, such as managing site-specific commodities, documentation and compliance management, resourcing activities, and supplier rationalization activities.

Job Summary

The Site Sourcing Specialist will participate in or lead special projects related to the Sourcing function, such as managing site-specific commodities, documentation and compliance management, resourcing activities, and supplier rationalization activities. This position serves as the interface between the Duncan, SC site and the regional commodity teams, acting as the first level of escalation for issues from the Supply Chain involving suppliers. The work environment is project-oriented within a low-volume, high-mix production setting. Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor direct material variances to inform finance and bid and proposal teams.
• Enter and maintain sourcing rules and parameters in the ERP system.
• Participate in identifying productivity actions with site sourcing management and relay information to regional commodity teams.
• Provide inputs on site needs through frequent contact with users.
• Obtain samples and coordinate the APQP/PPAP qualification process with quality and engineering.
• Assist in material changeover activities during supplier resourcing or rationalization.
• Provide site-level documentation to regional commodity teams (e.g., engineering drawings, specifications, quality requirements).
• Review the company fixed asset report monthly with site sourcing management.
• Assist with documentation projects for business process improvements and site compliance.
• Serve as the first level of escalation to assist the Supply Chain Group with supplier-related issues.
• Manage invoice discrepancies, engineering change requests, claims, and chargebacks.
• Manage site-specific commodities and services, including RFI/RFQ and supplier qualification activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Degree required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Economics, or Finance preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in manufacturing, transportation, or heavy construction industries.
• Two to four years of purchasing experience.

• Proficiency in using a personal computer and standard Microsoft Office software at an intermediate level (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Familiarity with large ERP systems (Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP, Baan).
• Familiarity with ERP report-out software/tools (Crystal Reports, Power BI).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple issues simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate with internal and external parties with tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to work in an ISO/IRIS quality system environment.

Authority

Employees work under the site sourcing delegation of authority for purchase orders, capital purchase requisitions, purchase card usage, and contracting instruments (e.g., long-term agreements, master service agreements, letters of intent). All WPT employees have the authority to stop the process they are performing if it becomes unsafe or the outputs are nonconforming.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, and stand.
• Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and ear protection) when entering the shop environment.
• Regularly required to be on-site.
• May be required to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 10% of the time.

Work Environment

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. During visits to operational areas, the employee may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Occasionally, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise may occur.
