Team Red Dog is hiring a Commissioning Systems Engineer for our client, a leading cloud and software provider and intelligent cloud leader. This role combines field engineering, network troubleshooting, test equipment support, and commissioning platform operations within some of the most advanced data center environments in the world. The successful candidate will help deploy and support critical commissioning systems, ensuring networks, instrumentation, and applications are fully operational before major testing milestones. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with large-scale infrastructure projects while contributing to the automation and standardization of next-generation commissioning technologies.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Network setup and troubleshooting (wired and wireless) – Experience configuring, supporting, and resolving issues across commissioning networks, field connectivity, routers, switches, wireless access points, and networked test environments.
  2. Test equipment and instrumentation support – Hands-on experience troubleshooting Power Quality Meters (PQMs), load bank controllers, environmental sensors, and other commissioning or industrial test equipment used in critical infrastructure environments.
  3. Construction site or industrial field support – Experience supporting electrical systems, building management systems (BMS), commissioning platforms, or related infrastructure in active construction, industrial, or mission-critical environments.
  4. Technical systems troubleshooting and customer support – Ability to diagnose hardware, software, and network issues, communicate effectively with remote engineering teams, and drive timely issue resolution.

How you will make an impact:
• Support deployment, configuration, and ongoing operation of distributed commissioning test applications across data center project sites
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain wired and wireless networks supporting commissioning activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving Power Quality Meters, load bank controllers, environmental sensors, and related test equipment
• Review commissioning schedules and ensure equipment, applications, and network infrastructure are prepared for testing activities
• Support Commissioning Agents and Commissioning Managers with technical guidance and issue resolution
• Validate equipment readiness before commissioning milestones and coordinate equipment redeployment between projects
• Monitor and respond to escalated support requests while balancing planned site work and project deliverables
• Communicate status updates, project risks, and issue escalations to remote engineering and project teams
• Maintain accurate issue tracking, documentation, and reporting through Microsoft-approved tools and processes
• Deliver training on commissioning equipment, networking, safety procedures, and operational best practices
• Travel to East Coast data center sites to support commissioning platform setup, validation, and troubleshooting activities
• Contribute to automation initiatives, setup standardization efforts, and continuous process improvements

The expertise you bring:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered
• 2+ years of experience supporting wired and wireless network infrastructure
• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting test equipment, instrumentation, or industrial control systems
• 2+ years of experience supporting electrical systems, commissioning platforms, building management systems, or related infrastructure in construction or industrial environments
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting network-connected hardware and software systems
• Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and working within active job site environments
• Ability to prioritize competing demands and effectively manage multiple support requests
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across remote and onsite teams
• Experience documenting issues, tracking incidents, and maintaining technical records
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 15–25% to U.S. East Coast project sites
• Experience supporting critical infrastructure, data center operations, or commissioning activities is highly preferred

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:

Successful candidates bring a combination of hands-on networking expertise, hardware troubleshooting skills, and experience supporting technical systems in construction, industrial, or mission-critical environments. They are comfortable working directly with field personnel while coordinating with remote engineering teams to resolve issues under tight project timelines. Experience with commissioning activities, building management systems, electrical infrastructure, wireless networking, and industrial instrumentation will help candidates ramp quickly and make an immediate impact. Individuals who thrive in dynamic environments, communicate proactively, and enjoy solving complex technical challenges across both hardware and software systems tend to excel in this role.
