Responsibilities:
- Measure and cut upholstery materials to fit various furniture designs.
- Apply padding, fabric, and leather to furniture frames with precision.
- Repair and restore existing upholstery to meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with designers to select appropriate materials and finishes.
- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and client satisfaction.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and upholstery techniques.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a commercial upholsterer or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of upholstery techniques and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret design specifications and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; upholstery certification is a plus.
