Commercial Tire Technician

The Commercial Tire Technician is responsible for performing tire-related services including, installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial tires ensuring safety and efficiency.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Mount, demountand balance commercial tires and wheels as directed.
  • Perform tire repairs, including sealing punctures and replacing valve stems.
  • Inspect tires, wheels and vehicles before and after service to identify additional needs, ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Road test vehicles.
  • Ensure the service center is clean and safe.
  • Assist in stocking inventory and maintaining supply levels as directed.
  • Must use PPE, dollies, jacks, hoists, lifts, commercial air tools and various tools in accordance with proper use and safety guidelines.
  • Use proper ergonomics when lifting to avoid strains.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • 0-1 year work experience in tire services or related field.
  • Must demonstrate working understanding of tire service procedures, mechanical skills and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
  • Strong customer service skills and effective communication are essential.
  • US work authorization.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
  • Driver's License, unrestricted.
  • Maintain TIA & ALI certification upon training received.
Work Environment/Expectations:
  • Work will occur in well-lit, well-ventilated repair shop locations.
  • Exposure is grease, car exhaust and chemicals is expected.
  • Background noise from coworkers, vehicles and various tools is expected.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Must wear required uniform.
Physical Requirements :
  • Bending, squatting and working under vehicles is expected.
  • Ability to lift and move at least 100 pounds routinely.
  • Ability to push and pull at least 50 pounds routinely.
  • Use of power tools and mechanic parts are used daily, including heavy duty impact guns for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk, talk, listen and speak clearly.
  • Use of fine motor skills is expected.
  • Must be able to raise arms above the head and shoulders for extended periods of time.
