Position Summary

Liberty Moving & Storage is seeking an experienced, results-driven Commercial Sales Manager to lead and grow our commercial moving division. This individual will oversee the commercial sales team, develop new business opportunities, manage key client relationships, and ensure projects move seamlessly from proposal through execution.

Responsibilities

Sales Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial sales team.
  • Establish sales goals, territories, quotas, and performance expectations.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions and monthly department meetings.
  • Monitor individual and team performance through reporting and analytics.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, coach, and evaluate team members, including performance reviews and disciplinary actions when necessary.

Business Development

  • Develop new business through networking, prospecting, referrals, and cold calling.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key commercial clients and strategic partners.
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, and industry functions.
  • Generate and manage lead lists to expand market opportunities.
  • Develop innovative sales strategies to increase market share and revenue.

Proposal & Estimating Oversight

  • Prepare and review proposals, presentations, and sales literature.

  • Understand and manage:

  • Walk-through estimates vs. sales appointments

  • RFP responses

  • Inside pricing

  • Flat-rate vs. Time & Material pricing

  • Hourly rate pricing

  • Job costing and truckload calculations

  • Commercial moving terminology and industry standards

  • Write and review orders, contracts, and Certificates of Insurance (COIs).

Operations & Project Coordination

  • Maintain an organized sales pipeline and workflow.
  • Coordinate closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage project handoffs from sales to operations.
  • Monitor job progress and customer satisfaction throughout the moving process.

Strategic Account Development

  • Become familiar with and assist in developing business opportunities with major commercial accounts and procurement organizations. Administrative Responsibilities
  • Manage CRM data and sales reporting.
  • Monitor sales trends and forecast business opportunities.
  • Assist with website updates and marketing materials.
  • Oversee departmental timekeeping and scheduling.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in commercial moving, logistics, transportation, or business services.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience leading a sales team.
  • Proven success in business development and revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to build long-term relationships with clients and strategic partners.
  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving and time management skills.
