Salary: $75,000- $90,000 + Bonus Location: Hampton Roads Area - Norfolk, VA
Are you ready to take charge of safety in Hampton Roads area?
Our client, an expanding commercial roofing company, is in search of a Safety Manager to lead safety efforts at their Norfolk, VA office. They seek a safety-oriented individual dedicated to ensuring workplace safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in implementing comprehensive safety programs, including practices related to job site safety, fall protection, and hazard communication.
Facilitate group safety training sessions and conduct thorough inspections of projects to ensure safety compliance.
Collaborate in the development of Site Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses.
Ensure strict adherence to safety standards governed by OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations.
Assist in creating and delivering safety training programs to educate employees on safe work practices.
Actively identify safety issues and contribute to policy development and personnel training.
Maintain safety compliance while working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Suppliers.
Conduct safety orientations for all employees and oversee the formation of a local branch safety committee.
Provide support in the event of OSHA agency-level audits and address hazardous situations independently.
BACKGROUND PROFILE
Expertise in: Developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive construction safety programs (including fall protection, hazard communication, OSHA compliance, and job site inspections)
3+ years’ experience in: Commercial construction and/or commercial roofing industry safety management
Exposure to: Site-Specific Safety Plans, Activity Hazard Analyses (AHA), OSHA audits, and field-level safety training for crews and project teams
Working knowledge of: OSHA regulations (Construction 1926), fall protection standards, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Procore (preferred)
Education or equivalent experience: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety or related field OR 5+ years of relevant field safety experience
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS
OSHA 30-hour in Construction 1926.
OSHA 500 certification.
EM 385 certification.
Fall Protection Trainer Certified.
Recognized BCSP certification preferred.
