Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

Chicago, IL | Hybrid (1 day a week in office after training)

LHH is partnering with a highly respected Chicago-based law firm to recruit an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join a sophisticated and well-established Real Estate practice.

This role offers the opportunity to support complex, highvalue real estate transactions for a diverse client base that includes regional, national, and global organizations. The team is known for handling transactions across multiple asset classes and for its collaborative, high-performance culture.

The Opportunity

In this role, you'll work closely with attorneys on a wide range of commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and development transactions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage matters independently while contributing effectively within a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support commercial real estate transactions from start to finish
  • Review and assist with purchase and sale agreements and related contracts
  • Prepare and manage closing checklists and track key deadlines
  • Review title, survey, and zoning materials; assist with resolving title issues
  • Coordinate due diligence, including ordering and summarizing searches
  • Prepare estoppels, SNDAs, UCC financing statements, and closing documents
  • Review and abstract leases
  • Liaise with clients, lenders, title companies, and other third parties
  • Assist with organizing and finalizing electronic closing binders
  • Utilize docketing systems to track and manage active matters
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
  • 5-7+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience
  • (strong candidates with slightly less experience will be considered)
  • Solid experience supporting acquisitions, dispositions, and financing matters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with iManage and Adobe is a plus
  • Commitment to high-quality client service
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime as transactions require
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary range: $110,000-$120,000 annually
  • (Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.)
