Summary The Commercial Portfolio Manager (CPM) is responsible for the administrative management of the specific assigned lending relationships of commercial loans. The CPM will act as a resource to the Commercial Loan Officer for their accounts. The administrative management of the account includes ensuring that compliance and covenant information is up to date and complete within credit files and that there is active communication with the borrower to obtain such information. In addition, the CPM will assist in performing underwriting analysis of new or renewed credits, including the preparation of credit approval packets.
Responsibilities and Expectations Key Responsibilities • Focus daily activities on ensuring information and credit files of all assigned borrowers are current and there is active communication with borrowers. • Maintain follow-up with existing clients to ensure that the bank has timely and accurate financial information for purposes of loan monitoring and updating loan files. • Assist in preparing and underwriting credit approval packets, including new requests, renewals, and annual reviews within assigned portfolio. • Work closely with the Credit Department to ensure all assigned loan requests are processed in a timely manner. • Present Annual Reviews of assigned credits to the Loan Committee. • Review loan documentation to ensure documents accurately reflect credit approval terms. • Perfect the banks security position and protect the banks rights and remedies. • Schedule and conduct timely site visits and inspections of collateral. • Assist in facilitating the closing of transactions. • Assist Commercial Lenders in managing past due and maturing loans. • Attend and participate in team meetings and required community-business related events. • Assist Commercial Lenders to ensure customers are being serviced as needed.
Secondary Responsibilities • Assist with developing and strengthening existing commercial banking relationships through scheduled customer touches. • Assist with researching, preparation, and execution of customer calls. • Assist with developing new sources of revenue within the existing portfolio by maintaining knowledge of commercial banking products and services and exploring cross-selling opportunities. • Provide back-up support for loan assistants from time to time.
Required Skills & Education Requirements • Bachelors Degree • Previous banking experience with knowledge of banking products, services, and/or operations experience • Strong attention to detail • Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • Junior lending experience • 3 years of credit analysis experience • Familiarity with the Wichita market • Previous experience in a portfolio management role, loan assistant, consumer lending
