Responsible for developing strategic direction and implementation of commercial loan participation purchases and sales, as part of Wings overall Commercial growth strategy. Focus on creation and awareness of commercial loan participation opportunities. Fundamental to the position is the identification, development & maintenance of counterparty relationships with credit unions, banks, and other financial institutions.

Essential Functions

  • Identify & develop network of direct relationships with credit unions, banks, & other fixed income investors
  • Build out and maintain participation program with staff and system needs to support growth of the portfolio.
  • Source and originate commercial loans that may be sold to other financial institutions
  • Ability to quickly assess commercial participation purchase opportunities for acceptable credit quality standards; Arrange and conduct site visits; Review and analyze risk
  • Design and negotiate terms and conditions of loan purchase and sale transactions for the benefit of Wings Financial
  • Partner with commercial analyst team for credit review presentation preparation.
  • Present credit presentations to obtain Wings Business Loan Review Committee approval of loan requests, modifications and renewals
  • Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel to negotiate agreements needed to conduct transactions and manage partnerships
  • In conjunction with Credit Risk team, clarify and recommend enhancements to policies, standards & procedures to ensure efficient & effective governance & operational controls
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with team members in Commercial Lending and operations, as well as throughout Wings.
  • Develop and manage reporting on commercial participation loans, purchased and sold
  • Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Wings policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position:

  • Bachelor''s Degree or equivalent work experience as demonstrated by increased levels of accountability, knowledge.
  • 5+ years of commercial lending experience, demonstrated experience in originating and/or managing participation lending.
  • Syndication lending experience is preferred to support future department growth.
  • Bondable.

Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of personal computer and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Browsers and Outlook.
  • Maintains current knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices, including BSA, AML, Patriot Act, CIP, and OFAC regulations and guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of Cash Management and Commercial Deposit Account services and products.
  • Desire, ability, and experience in working with people in a professional setting as demonstrated by a positive, enthusiastic attitude, exceptional interpersonal skills, professional business appearance and previous work experience.

PAY RANGE: $135-158k (S18) plus 15% annual target bonus.

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications, location and internal pay equity.
