Commercial Lines Account Manager – Property & Casualty
Location: Hybrid

 

At Alera Group, our Property & Casualty team helps businesses protect their assets, manage risk, and plan confidently for the future. We’re seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager who will support risk strategy, client service excellence, and operational accuracy.

This role will focus on risk management, client servicing, claims support, sales growth, underwriting, analytics, etc. and collaborate with producers, account managers, carriers, clients, internal operations teams.

Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do / Your Impact

Client Partnership & Risk Strategy

  • Support Producers by coordinating renewals and new business for commercial accounts
  • Gather underwriting information and engage clients to prepare renewal and marketing submissions
  • Serve as a day‑to‑day point of contact for clients and carriers, responding to questions and service needs
  • Strengthen client relationships through clear communication and reliable follow‑through

Operational Excellence

  • Request, review, and analyze carrier quotes for accuracy, coverage, and pricing
  • Assist with marketing and placement of business, including preparation of presentations and premium analysis
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of policies, endorsements, invoicing, audits, and billing
  • Review month‑end statements and assist with finance arrangements as needed
  • Issue proofs of insurance and manage service follow‑ups
  • Maintain organized electronic files, suspense systems, and follow‑up tracking
  • Ensure compliance with agency E&O guidelines and internal procedures

Strategic Contribution

  • Provide thoughtful recommendations on coverage options, quotes, and open issues
  • Support special projects and process improvements as assigned
  • Contribute to efficient workflows and consistent, high‑quality service delivery

 

Qualifications:

What You Bring

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial insurance account management role
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license
  • Strong understanding of commercial lines underwriting and coverages
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience working in Applied Epic or similar agency management systems
  • Experience supporting middle‑market or complex commercial accounts

Licensure & Certifications (If Applicable)
