The Lending Assistant will provide lending and administrative support to the Commercial Division Leader and Community Bank Business Lenders.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Execute pre-closing tasks of commercial lending; including, but not limited to ordering title, appraisals, survey, flood certifications.
- Coordinate loan processing activities - work with loan operations team to ensure that loans are closed and loaded in the system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review loan documents as prepared by outside counsel and coordinate loan closings.
- Partner with lender in efficiently processing draw approvals and wires, and other funding methods.
- Ensure loan documents and files are imaged properly and timely.
- Partner with lender in monitoring past due loans, maturing loans, insurance policies, monitoring and clearing technical exceptions, timely recording of mortgages and related documents.
- Ensure compliance with loan policy, regulations, and procedures.
- Effectively manage customer communications (verbal and written), problem resolution, and provide excellent customer service.
- Support business development activities.
- Collaborative professional skills that lead to a collegial and partnered approach to meeting objectives.

Position Requirements
Minimum Required Education, Experience & Knowledge:
- 2+ years related experience in the financial industry (banking, credit union, finance) or in a related business field
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; including, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; with ability to learn core banking and loan platform
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent time management skills to work semi-autonomously with multiple projects and or deliverables
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Working knowledge of a professional, administrative office environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business or finance
- 3+ years related experience in the financial industry working in a lending support capacity.
