Shape safer entrances every day with Vortex Doors

Picture your morning: you load up your service vehicle, review your route, and head to a retail storefront for a quick closer adjustment before moving on to an industrial dock where a manual door needs a spring replacement. In the afternoon, you install new hardware and access control on a hollow metal opening, document your work, and walk the customer through what you did and why. That’s a typical day as a Field Technician at Vortex Doors—America’s most customer-focused commercial and industrial door service team.

We welcome experienced door pros and motivated newcomers alike—if you bring mechanical aptitude, a safety-first mindset, and pride in quality workmanship, we’ll provide the training to help you excel.

What you’ll handle

  • Install and service a wide range of commercial doors and storefront systems using the right tools and methods.
  • Diagnose and repair issues such as broken springs, hinges, locks, and related electrical components.
  • Set up door hardware—locks, levers, closers—and support access control configurations.
  • Verify every installation meets applicable building codes and safety standards.
  • Deliver clear, respectful customer service—explain findings, outline options, and recommend cost‑effective solutions.
  • Document each visit with accurate notes, measurements, and reports.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure repairs and installs meet Vortex standards.

Work schedule

  • Full‑time within our business hours of 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with potential overtime and on‑call.
