Your Day, At a Glance

You start your morning with a service schedule, load up diagnostic gear, and head to a mix of commercial and industrial sites. One stop might be a rooftop packaged unit with erratic cooling; the next, a hydronic loop that needs balancing. You read schematics, trace faults across electrical and mechanical subsystems, verify operation against design intent, and document every step to meet safety standards and building codes. Throughout the day, you collaborate with teammates, keep customers informed, and ensure each work area is left clean, safe, and organized.

What You'll Handle

  • Perform maintenance and repair on a wide range of HVAC/R systems and related mechanical equipment across commercial and industrial sites.
  • Diagnose issues using schematics, design plans, and diagnostic instruments (ohmmeters, refrigeration gauges/testing equipment, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot electrical components and mechanical assemblies, isolate faults, and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate service records while ensuring compliance with safety practices and applicable building codes.
  • Support property maintenance tasks connected to HVAC/R systems when needed.
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Keep job sites orderly, hazard-free, and well organized.

Background That Fits

  • Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or adjacent trades (construction, property maintenance, appliance repair).
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude with heating and air conditioning equipment repair.
  • Comfort reading schematics and applying HVAC design principles in the field.
  • Exposure to plumbing and electrical work; ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
  • Welding or boiler maintenance background is a plus.
  • Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license with a strong driving record for travel between job sites.
