What you’ll take on

• Install, service, and repair a broad range of commercial doors using the right tools and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues—springs, hinges, locks, electrical components—quickly and cost‑effectively.
• Configure and fit hardware: locks, handles, closers, and access control devices.
• Verify every install meets safety requirements and applicable building codes.
• Deliver clear, friendly customer communication and practical solutions.
• Record service visits, repairs, and installations with accurate, timely documentation and reports.
• Perform final quality checks to ensure work meets Vortex standards.

Schedule

Full-time within business hours of 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with potential overtime and on-call opportunities.

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Door industry experience (2+ years a plus) or the drive to learn as an entry-level tech.
• Familiarity with door types, brands, and hardware is a plus.
• Confident with hand and power tools; proficient in safe power tool operation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with sharp troubleshooting skills.
• Comfort with measurements—reading a tape accurately and doing fraction math.
• Clear communicator focused on exceptional customer service.
• Detail-oriented craftsmanship and pride in quality work.
• Knowledge of safety rules and consistent adherence to safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 20’, and work on your knees for extended periods.
