At HB McClure, we're looking for an experienced installer who enjoys working independently, solves problems in the field, and doesn't need someone looking over their shoulder every day. You'll work alongside our Building Automation team installing the infrastructure that keeps commercial buildings operating efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Install low-voltage control and communication wiring in commercial facilities.
- Run conduit and route wiring neatly and efficiently.
- Install controllers, sensors, panels, actuators, thermostats, and other field devices.
- Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
- Assemble control panels and field hardware.
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and fellow technicians to keep projects moving.
- Work safely on new construction and retrofit projects throughout Central PA.

- Has several years of commercial low-voltage installation experience.
- Can work independently with minimal supervision.

- Communicates professionally with customers, foremen, and teammates to keep projects running smoothly.

- Is dependable, accountable, and follows through on commitments.
- Wants to be a valued contributor on the team, not someone who needs a management title to make an impact.
Experience We Value
You don't need direct Building Automation experience to be successful in this role. We'd love to hear from you if you've worked in industries such as:
- Building Automation (BAS)
- Security & Access Control
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Structured Cabling
- Telecommunications
- Industrial Controls
- PLC or Automation Wiring
- Commercial Electrical
- Audio/Visual Systems
If your experience has you pulling cable, installing conduit, reading prints, and wiring commercial systems, we'd love to hear from you.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Several years of commercial low-voltage installation experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Experience installing conduit (up to 1")
- Comfortable working from lifts and at heights
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screening
