JOB SUMMARY


Job Profile Summary


The Commercial Business Analyst role supports the crude commercial organization through analytical support, operational execution, and commercial evaluation with a focus on quality control. The exact title (Analyst I-III) and role will be determined based on the individual candidate’s skillset and applicable work experience, if any. Dependent on the role, the Analyst will support day-to-day crude scheduling activities, develop and maintain analytical tools and reporting, support crude quality and value optimization, and/or help evaluate new commercial opportunities.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities


+ Maintain data analytic tools to support commercial activities, including building dashboards, automating recurring reports, and improving data accessibility and quality.

+ Evaluate new commercial opportunities and ad-hoc initiatives by gathering information, performing quantitative analyses, summarizing economics, and preparing materials for decision-making.

+ Support crude scheduling execution,tracking movements,andmonitoring constraints.

+ Support crude quality optimization efforts by analyzing crude assays/quality attributes, monitoring blend performance, and helping identify opportunities to improve netbacks and operational outcomes.


Education


+ ​Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, finance, engineering, business administration, accounting.

+ 0-5 years of relevant experience (entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply).

+ Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to creatively organize data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint; ability to learn and use additional analytical tools (e.g., Power BI) and new systems quickly.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

+ High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and a willingness to learn through hands-on work.

+ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

+ Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software

+ Experience interacting, advising, negotiating, and communicating effectively
