Contract: Contract to Hire | Pay: $30.00 DOE

We're seeking a skilled Commercial Building Engineer for a contract to hire position in the Dallas area. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals experienced in commercial office maintenance to showcase their expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.

Position Summary:

The Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of building systems including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing components. This role ensures timely service to tenants and supports the overall efficiency and value of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems (e.g., pumps, chillers, boilers, air handling units)
  • Adjust HVAC and related equipment to maintain optimal performance
  • Execute general building maintenance (fixtures, lighting, appliances, plumbing, etc.)
  • Monitor and document system operations, including chemical treatment programs and log entries
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions effectively
  • Assist with scheduling and delegating tasks while minimizing disruption to tenants
  • Respond promptly to work orders and client/tenant needs
  • Collaborate with supervisors and management to resolve complex building issues
  • Complete all assigned training and certifications within required timeframes

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of commercial office building maintenance experience
  • Proficient knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple systems and equipment types
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and manuals
  • Must be safety-conscious and reliable
  • Strong communication and client service skills
