About LivWell Behavioral Health Services

LivWell Behavioral Health Services is a licensed outpatient behavioral health organization committed to improving the

lives of youth and families through accessible, high-quality mental health care. With facilities in the Chandler/Mesa,

AZ area and continued expansion into Utah and additional states, LivWell partners with schools and communities to

deliver meaningful clinical support where it's needed most.

Position Overview

LivWell is seeking a strategic, experienced Commercial Biller & Insurance Contracting Specialist to own the full scope

of our commercial billing operations and payer relationship management. This is a high-impact, dual-function role that

combines hands-on billing oversight with the payer contracting responsibilities critical to LivWell's continued growth.

As we expand into new markets, your expertise in insurance contracting, credentialing coordination, and revenue

cycle optimization will be central to our financial health and operational scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Billing Operations

  • Oversee all commercial insurance billing operations for LivWell's behavioral health service lines.
  • Submit, monitor, and appeal commercial insurance claims to maximize reimbursement and minimize AR days.
  • Analyze billing metrics and identify opportunities to improve collection rates and denial outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain billing policies, procedures, and internal documentation standards.
  • Train and support billing staff while ensuring ongoing compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.

Insurance Contracting & Payer Relations

  • Manage payer enrollment, credentialing support, and insurance contracting across all active and expanding markets.
  • Negotiate and maintain contracts with commercial insurance carriers, behavioral health carve-out networks, and managed care organizations.
  • Track contract renewals, reimbursement rates, and payer performance against benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to align contracting strategy with organizational growth goals.
  • Ensure compliance with MHPAEA (Mental Health Parity), HIPAA, and applicable state and federal billing regulations.

Revenue Cycle Leadership

  • Partner with LivWell's COO and clinical leadership to optimize overall revenue cycle performance.
  • Produce regular billing performance reports and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve intake-to-reimbursement workflows as LivWell scales into new states.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4–7 years of experience in medical billing, with at least 2 years focused on commercial insurance contracting or payer relations.
  • Experience in behavioral health or outpatient mental health billing strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating payer contracts and managing contract renewals.
  • Thorough understanding of behavioral health carve-out payer structures (Optum Behavioral Health, Carelon, Magellan, Evernorth).
  • Working knowledge of MHPAEA parity requirements and their impact on behavioral health billing.
  • Experience managing or mentoring billing staff.
  • Proficiency in medical billing software, EHR systems, and data reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Relevant certification (CPB, CPCO, CMRS, or CHFP) strongly preferred.
