This role focuses on designing, installing, and operating CHP systems that simultaneously generate electricity and usable heat from a single fuel source. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical and regulatory requirements while maximizing energy efficiency and cost savings for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning, Design, and Procurement
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the potential of CHP systems based on client energy consumption patterns and site conditions.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Oversee the selection and design of CHP system components, such as prime movers (engines or turbines), heat recovery systems, and energy storage solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and utility grid interconnection requirements.
  • Manage procurement processes for CHP equipment, materials, and services from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate contracts to ensure compliance with pricing, delivery schedules, and performance guarantees.
Construction, Commissioning, and Operations
  • Coordinate construction activities such as site preparation, equipment installation, piping, electrical wiring, and system commissioning.
  • Monitor project progress against schedules and budgets while identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions.
  • Lead the commissioning process to verify system functionality through performance testing that optimizes energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to address any system issues during commissioning for a seamless transition to operation.
  • Provide technical support to clients during the initial operating phase of the CHP system.
  • Develop comprehensive maintenance plans to optimize system performance and reliability over time.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management with a focus on energy systems, power generation, or HVAC systems.
  • Strong understanding of CHP technology, including thermodynamics, heat recovery systems, and grid interconnection requirements.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and environmental compliance standards.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical data for informed decision-making.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about energy efficiency solutions who thrives in a dynamic environment. If you have the expertise to lead innovative CHP projects that deliver sustainable results for clients while driving operational excellence, we encourage you to apply!
