For over 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Colorado/Wyoming Sale Representative ensures existing customer satisfaction and familiarity with Maguire, seek new work for the Company, and prospect for new customers. Areas of focus include researching regulatory requirements, recordkeeping, providing reports, drafting correspondence, negotiating proposals/estimates/contracts, providing bids, maintaining service agreements, and completing customer satisfaction surveys. Travel includes prospecting, site visits, tower climbing, trade shows, meetings, networking, and presentations.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify and cold call prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Develop monthly itinerary and weekly call plans to strategically attack the opportunities identified in the states assigned to call on.
  • Confer with customers and engineers to assess service needs and to determine service requirements.
  • Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses, bids, and service requests.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations that explain services to customers and prospective customers.
  • Quote and negotiate prices, terms, or other bid specifications and service agreements.
  • Document account activities, generate reports, and maintain customer records using INFOR CRM software.
  • Provide customers with ongoing technical support.
  • Attend sales and trade meetings, and read related publications in order to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, and industry developments.
  • Give presentations as it relates to our industry.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as construction bid specifications and contracts, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Possess strong analytical abilities and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, strong administrative skills, the ability to multi-task, and knowledge of systems and PC skills (INFOR, INFOR CRM, Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, MS CRM, Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Minimum age requirement of 21 for driving responsibilities.
  • Valid driver’s license is required. 

Work Environment:

  • Majority of the time is spent in an office environment.
  • Frequently required to sit, squat, talk and hear. 
  • Constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. 
  • Adhere to Maguire’s PPE Policy and Safety Programs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities. Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to traverse construction sites by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
  • Must be able to climb up to heights of 200 feet.
  • Able to work at a sustained pace and produce quality work.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

About the Company

Maguire

In the early 1900’s Michael J. Maguire emigrated from Ireland to the Newton/Waltham area where he worked in the plumbing industry. He served in the United States Army during WW1 and following discharge, he continued working in the plumbing industry.

Circa 1922 he began providing plumbing and steam heating services as Michael J. Maguire Plumbing and Heating with three employees working on residential projects. Michael Maguire’s three sons William, Robert and Michael became master plumbers. His second son, Robert, grew the business to include commercial service and construction projects and incorporated the firm in 1969 as Maguire Company, Inc.

Robert’s second son, Dennis V. Maguire, became a master plumber and has continued the family tradition. Today the Maguire Company, Inc. is a vibrant third-generation family owned and operated corporation providing a wide range of plumbing, heating, mechanical contracting services to residential, commercial and institutional clients.
