This role connects jobseekers and students with college, certificate, and credential programs aligned to in-demand careers. Work is performed under the supervision of the Program Manager.Your Impact on Career Team's SuccessProvide career counseling and case management services to participants pursuing college, certificate, and credential pathwaysAssess participants' education, employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methodsGuide participants through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their specific educational and occupational goalsAdvise participants on college admissions, financial aid, enrollment, and persistence strategiesBuild and maintain relationships with community colleges, universities, and training providers in the regionStay on top of labor market trends and align education and training paths with the skill needs of area business and industryCounsel participants on available training programs, support services, and job opportunitiesRefer individuals to appropriate services, training programs, or job opportunities and follow up on those activitiesConduct orientation sessions, workshops, and other group presentations for participantsEnter data into WIT and process clients through any participant information system as requiredMaintain accurate individual case files in WIT, assuring each file contains all required eligibility documents and meets compliance requirementsFollow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentationApproach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindsetOther duties and projects as neededPosition Type: Hybrid – requires onsite and remote work.To Qualify for This Role, You Must HaveBachelor's degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong communication skills and knowledge about community and postsecondary education resourcesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-thought-out decisionsComputer literate with MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systemsAbility to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base with the ability to be culturally sensitiveAbility to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them toward achieving goalsExcellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and writtenKnowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirementsA Valid Driver's LicenseAdditional Skills/Knowledge Career Team Would Love for This RoleExperience advising students on college admissions, financial aid, or postsecondary persistenceBilingual or multilingualStrong multitasking abilities and a proactive approach to tasksTraining in Trauma-Informed Care, evidence-based practice, and/or whole family servicesTravel: As NeededCareer Team is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
