The Norwich Free Academy is seeking a College and Career Center Coordinator. The College & Career Center Coordinator supports Norwich Free Academy students' postsecondary planning, career exploration, scholarship exploration, and employment pathways. The Coordinator supports the daily operations and programs of a busy, comprehensive college and career center on the NFA campus. The Coordinator works collaboratively with school counselors, teachers, community partners, and employers to ensure students are prepared for success beyond high school.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Support the daily operations of the College & Career Center through career pathway programs, scheduling, logistics coordination, employer engagement activities, internship and work-based learning placements, and required paperwork and compliance documentation.
  • Provide individualized and small-group support to students in career exploration, career assessments, scholarship research and applications, part-time job and internship opportunities, and career readiness skills, including resume development and interview preparation.
  • Support, plan, and coordinate college and career programming, including Career Exploration speaker series, Career Expo, College & Career Fair, job fairs, college visits (on-campus and virtual), workforce readiness events, military visits, and ASVAB testing.
  • Assist with scheduling, logistics, communications, and day-of-event coordination.
  • Organize and coordinate field trips related to career exploration.
  • Assist with tracking student participation and program outcomes.
  • Proactively develop and maintain partnerships with employers, community organizations, postsecondary institutions, and workforce development agencies.
  • Attend community events to promote student opportunities and strengthen partnerships.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services, the Director of the College and Career Center, or Designee,

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of college and career readiness practices, workforce development initiatives, labor market trends, and career pathway programming.
  • Familiarity with Connecticut workforce initiatives, Career & Technical Education (CTE), Perkins programming, industry-recognized credentials, apprenticeships, and work-based learning experiences preferred.
  • Experience working collaboratively with employers, colleges, workforce development organizations, and community partners
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, faculty, business partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Experience with student data tracking systems, career exploration platforms, and Microsoft/Google applications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with community engagement and partnership development preferred.
  • Knowledge of college admissions, financial aid, career pathways, and workforce trends strongly preferred.
