Job Description:

Accounts Collections Specialist

Apex Systems is looking for an Account Collections Specialist who excels in their role and are committed to delivering an exceptional experience for our clients internal and external end users and clients. Role: Account Collections Specialist

Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Location: Tampa, FL

Rate: 29hr

Details:

  • Manage a portfolio of national and high-value customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices
  • Proactively contact customers regarding past due balances via phone and email correspondence
  • Analyze aging reports and prioritize collection efforts based on risk and account status
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management teams to resolve disputes and billing discrepancies
  • Research and reconcile account issues, including short payments, unapplied cash, and disputed invoices
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all collection activities in internal systems
  • Monitor customer payment trends and escalate high-risk accounts as needed
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts receivable
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulations

Qualifications

  • Experience in collections, accounts receivable, or credit management (B2B

preferred)

  • Experience handling large or national accounts strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of billing, invoicing, and cash application processes
  • Proficiency in Outlook, NetSuite and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
