Job Summary
This position performs specialized duties related to the department's tax collection operations.
Major Duties
- Receives and processes judges' rulings and prepares files for individuals ordered to pay fines.
- Corrects discrepancies, monitors compliance with court orders, and collects payments.
- Processes motor vehicle renewals, title transfers, and other motor vehicle transactions.
- Receives payments for property taxes, processes refund letters, and provides information to taxpayers regarding tax balances.
- Reviews passport applications for accuracy and completeness, collects fees from Passport Agencies, and prepares transmittal reports.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of county and departmental policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of the Texas Office of Court Administration, Collections Program policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of motor vehicle registration laws.
- Knowledge of property tax policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
- Skill in the preparation of clear and precise reports.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Must have at least one ( 1 ) year of work experience.
- Must be able to type at least 30 wpm.

- This position is covered by Civil Service; therefore, is subject to the Civil Service Rules and Regulations in addition to all other Webb County policies.
