Job Description
The Department of Management, Information Systems, and Quantitative Methods (MISQ) in the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member, at the rank of Assistant Professor in Management with a focus in Human Resources (HR), to begin Fall 2027. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Collat School of Business offers an engaging learning environment with classrooms that extend well beyond the UAB campus. Required Qualifications
Applicants must hold an earned doctorate in Management or a related business discipline from an AACSB-accredited degree program at the time of hire. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to maintain a strong record of research and scholarship relating to management/HR. Teaching experience and an interest in management and HR are required. • Earned doctorate in Management or a related business discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution at the time of hire. • Demonstrated commitment to research and teaching excellence in management and human resources. • Demonstrated in-person and/or online teaching effectiveness, including innovative pedagogy and student engagement • Experience using technology, such as generative AI and data analytics, in teaching and/or research. • U.S. citizen and permanent resident.
Preferred Qualifications • Two or more years of teaching experience at the university level, particularly teaching management and human resources courses. • Two or more years of industry experience. • Experience developing graduate and/or undergraduate curriculum. • Demonstrated ability to build community partnerships and engage with external stakeholders.
