Job PurposeThe Team Lead, Coding is responsible for the activities and overall functions of Coding and Off Shore coding staff. Duties and ResponsibilitiesMonitor Coding workflow, compile status and work – volume reports for managementMonitoring of Off-Shore work queuesMonitoring of Off-Shore systems issues working with Systems/IT to resolvePerform training with new Coding staffAssist with development and maintenance of policy and procedures Track and identify process improvement opportunities in client system clearing accounts and work queues Field questions from account representatives and clientsSupport Coding team with questions and issuesWork with Auditors to field Off-Shore coding rebuttalsPerform QA on on-shore coding staff, reporting up to ManagementInteraction with new physician education and reviews along with auditorCompile monthly QA scores of all coding staff to be reported to ManagementMaintain a professional attitude All other duties as directed by ManagerUse, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standardsUnderstand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCPC Certification2+ year’s coding/auditing experienceProficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point and OutlookAbility to work well individually and in a team environmentProficient in use of email and internetKnowledge of office management systems and proceduresKnowledge of administrative proceduresKnowledge of healthcare administration a plusKnowledge of EMR systems is a plusStrong organizational and time management skills a mustStrong communication skills requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Gracious and welcoming personality for customer service interaction Working ConditionsMust possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications, for multifactor authentication and security purposes.
