Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Cockroach DBA for a Contract with a client in Sunnyvale, CA/Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining highly available CockroachDB clusters across multi-region production environments while ensuring performance, scalability, and data consistency.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $58/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Cockroach DBA Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, deploy, and manage multi-region CockroachDB clusters to ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.

• Monitor database health, replication, latency, and resource utilization while performing capacity planning and proactive performance tuning.

• Troubleshoot complex database and infrastructure issues, including node failures, replication lag, network partitions, and performance bottlenecks.

• Develop and execute disaster recovery strategies, including backup, restore, failover, and point-in-time recovery processes.

• Automate database provisioning, scaling, upgrades, and maintenance activities to support efficient cluster operations.

• Create operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs, while participating in on-call support and incident response for production environments.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Database Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

• 8-10 years of database administration experience, including hands-on management of distributed database platforms.

• Strong expertise in CockroachDB cluster architecture, deployment, performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery.

• Experience troubleshooting complex distributed database environments, automating database operations, and managing multi-region production clusters with minimal downtime.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $58.00 per hour
