Summary:The Enrichment Coach (Gifted) is responsible for monitoring gifted procedures, services and files in collaboration with the building Principals, teachers, and parents. The Enrichment Coach (Gifted) will provide relevant technical assistance and training when needed. Will also develop and coordinate the district-wide gifted program
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as an advocate for all gifted students and the program.
- Plan and coordinate professional development activities relevant to the Gifted Program.
- Consult with school personnel on gifted program forms and reports.
- Oversee District-wide identification of gifted students (child-find).
- Develop appropriate services for gifted students and ensure delivery according to Individualized Education Plans.
- Ensure compliance of documentation for all gifted students. Review all gifted documents for accuracy and completeness prior to submission to EPO.
- Provide support to staff and administration working with gifted students.
- Provide training in the district's TieNet system.
- Serve as a resource to parents of gifted students, develop and provide parent training on gifted topics. And coordinate area Gifted Advisory Committees.
- Serve as a resource for all district staff and administration on all gifted education topics.
- Coordinate gifted instructional team, including development of staffing patterns and hiring gifted program staff.
- Oversee gifted program budget and expenditures.
- Serve as district liaison with New Mexico Public Education Department Gifted Coordinator.
- Comply with all Board of Education policies, administrative regulations, Public Education Department guidelines, and local, state, and federal laws.
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned, reasonably related to the scope of the position
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred
- Knowledge of Gifted education and the needs of Gifted students
- Valid New Mexico Teaching License or Administrative License with appropriate endorsements or Highly Qualified in the Content Area
- TESOL endorsement (27) - required for Reading Coach, ELA Coach, Language Acquisition Coach
- Five years of successful teaching experience
- Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and research-based practices
- Knowledge of Dine language, culture, and history preferred
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or assigned designee may find appropriate and acceptable
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Dine language, culture, and history preferred
- Good communication skills and customer service skills
- Knowledge of Student Assistance Team (SAT)
- Knowledge of Section 504 and IDEA Regulations
Physical/Job Requirements:
