Position Title: Assistant Boys Volleyball Coach
Reports To: Head Boys Basketball Coach / Athletic Director
Position Overview: Bradshaw Mountain High School located in Prescott Valley, Arizona is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Boys Volleyball Coach to support the development and success of the boys' volleyball program. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to foster a positive, competitive, and growth-focused environment for student-athletes. This role involves helping with practice planning, skill development, game-day strategy, team management, and mentoring players on and off the court.
Key Responsibilities: • Assist in planning and conducting daily practices, drills, and game preparations. • Support the Head Coach to ensure alignment in systems, terminology and program philosophy. • Provide individual and group instruction to improve player skill and team performance. • Promote academic achievement, sportsmanship, and personal growth among student-athletes. • Help manage game-day logistics, including setup, warm-ups, and in-game strategy. • Maintain effective communication with players, parents, and staff. • Supervise athletes during practices, games, travel, and other team activities. • Ensure compliance with school and AIA regulations. • Assist with team fundraising, equipment inventory, and community engagement activities.
Qualifications: • Previous coaching or playing experience in volleyball (school, club, or higher level). • Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and strategies. Certification: • Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to season start). • Background check and IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. • NFHS Coach Level 1: • NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching • NFHS Concussion in Sports • NFHS Protecting Students from Abuse • NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest Skills
Preferred Attributes: • Experience working with student-athletes in a school or educational setting. • Strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals, rotations, offensive and defensive systems. • Models integrity, professionalism and sportsmanship. • A commitment to sportsmanship, discipline and teamwork. • Enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated to fostering personal and athletic growth of student-athletes.
Compensation: Stipend-paid at the end of the season.
