 Support Recovery Through Integrated Care – Join Our Co-Occurring Specialist Team

As an Co-Occuring Disorders Counselor (Internal Title:  ITCD Specialist), you’ll be part of a collaborative team that focuses on treating the whole person—addressing both behavioral health and substance use through a unified, trauma-informed approach. You’ll provide individualized support, education, and counseling to help clients move toward lasting recovery and wellness.

About the ITCD Program:
The Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders (ITCD) program provides specialized, person-centered care for individuals experiencing both mental health and substance use disorders. Through a holistic, team-based approach, the program focuses on treating the whole person—not just symptoms—by integrating behavioral health and addiction services into a unified treatment plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver co-occurring treatment services through individual and group counseling
  • Support clients through CPRC community-based services and outreach efforts
  • Conduct assessments, treatment planning, and stage-of-change evaluations
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on treatment reviews and care plans
  • Provide transportation and collect/process urine drug screens as needed
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency policies
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and ongoing clinical supervision

Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

High School/GED required
  • Associate's/Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation/vocational/pastoral counseling, family therapy or closely related field preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE
Must be one of the following:
  • PLPC, LMSW, PLMFT, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT in Missouri
  • QAP – a person certified or registered with one of the following Missouri Credentialing Board credentials: CADC, CRADC, CRAADC, CCJP, CCDP, CCDP-D, RADC, RADC-P
  • One (1) year of training or supervised experience in substance abuse treatment required
  • If less than one (1) year of co-occurring disorder treatment experience is held, must be actively acquiring 24 hours of co-occurring training and receive supervision from experienced co-occurring staff as approved by the department
  • A valid driver's license and agency-established minimum automobile coverage required

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

PLPC, LMSW, PLMFT, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT in Missouri OR Qualified Addictions Professional (QAP) with Missouri Substance Use Credential
