CNC Swiss Setup Machinist
Shift: 1st, (7am-3:30pm)
Pay: $26-$35/hr. (Based on Experience)
We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Setup Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and capable of independently performing complete machine setups while maintaining high quality standards.
Job Description:
- Set tooling, offsets, tool heights, and work coordinates
- Configure and support bar feeders and part-handling systems
- Perform first-article inspections and make necessary adjustments
- Monitor machine performance and production quality throughout runs
- Select, install, and adjust cutting tools and inserts
- Optimize feeds, speeds, and tool life for Swiss machining applications
- Troubleshoot tooling, setup, and machining issues
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process documentation
- Maintain stable production processes and tight tolerances
- Read and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, and GD&T requirements
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, pin gauges, and bore gauges
- Verify parts meet dimensional and surface finish requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of CNC Swiss-type lathe setup experience
- Strong understanding of Swiss machining principles and guide bushing operations
- Ability to independently set up jobs from blueprints and setup sheets
- Proficiency with G-code and CNC controls
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
