As a CNC Shop Supervisor, you’ll play a critical role in managing daily shop activities for approximately 10 machinists across two shifts, providing technical guidance, and ensuring production standards are met with precision and efficiency. You’ll work closely with leadership to enhance processes, ensure safety, and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.

What You’ll Do:
As a CNC Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing daily shop operations, directing machinists and support staff to meet production schedules, priorities, and quality standards.
  • Providing technical support for CNC machining processes, including tooling, offsets, probing, and setups to optimize machine performance.
  • Reviewing drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and machining parameters to ensure precision and compliance.
  • Assisting with program prove-outs, first-article inspections, tooling, and process adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting machine alarms, quality issues, process deviations, and tool wear to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborating with the Assistant General Manager and Planning team on staffing, workflow, and operational improvements.
  • Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce scrap, and enhance overall shop performance.
  • Conducting onboarding, ongoing training, and coaching for shop personnel, along with providing performance feedback.
  • Upholding safety, quality, and traceability standards while promoting a positive and collaborative shop environment.

What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 years of CNC machining experience with a strong technical foundation.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a lead or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred).
  • A solid understanding of AS9100D quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing.
  • Expertise in CNC machining operations and program verification.
