CNC Setup Operator (Swiss) - Weekend Shift

Responsible for the efficient setup & operation of one or more assigned multi-axis CNC machine tools to produce component parts in accordance to engineering drawings, internal sketches, or other specifications provided by engineering.

Duties/Responsibilities

1. Responsible for machining of appropriate jobs in the order needed to meet production schedules.
2. Responsible for meeting standard production timeframes established for setup and cycle times.
3. Setup, and operate a variety of CNC equipment to produce high-precision medical device components using engineering drawings and specifications.
4. Perform some follow-up operations, such as deburring, polishing, and grinding.
5. Performs and documents in-process QA inspections.
6. Must consistently maintain a clean and organized work area.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Familiarity with dual spindle Swiss style manufacturing.
2. Ability to perform basic arithmetic, geometric and algebraic calculations.
3. Ability to read, and comprehend engineering drawings and sketches.
4. Basic understanding in use of conventional measuring tools and techniques, to assure compliance with technical specifications.
5. Working knowledge of basic machine shop tools and equipment.
6. Understanding of "G" code and Macro "B" program language.
7. Ability to maintain high levels of concentration and attention to detail.
8. Able to work 12 hour shifts and overtime when required.
9. Able to properly wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
10. Able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, lift, reach above shoulders, pull, push, climb up/down stairs.
11. High School/GED, or equivalent work experience required.
12. Experience working in medical device industry a plus.
13. Minimum of 3 years of experience with setting up and operating variety of CNC machine tools & controls.
