CNC Set Up Technician - Fort Wayne, IN - $27/hr

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Overview:

We're seeking a CNC Set Up Technician to support a high-volume manufacturing operation by performing CNC lathe setups, troubleshooting production issues, and optimizing machining processes.

This hands-on role is responsible for machine changeovers, tool path adjustments, root cause analysis, and supporting production efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong CNC lathe experience, understands machining processes, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform CNC lathe setups, machine changeovers, and production start-ups.

Troubleshoot CNC machining issues and implement corrective actions.

Update and adjust tool paths as needed to maintain quality and productivity.

Interpret and work with G-codes and M-codes.

Perform root cause analysis on production and machining issues.

Monitor machine performance and recommend process improvements.

Verify part quality using precision measuring equipment.

Support operators and production teams with technical machining expertise.

Assist with robot and gantry pickup point adjustments.

Maintain safe and efficient production operations.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.

2+ years of CNC lathe setup experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience performing machine setups and changeovers.

Ability to interpret G-codes and M-codes.

Experience troubleshooting CNC machining issues.

Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.

Strong understanding of lathe tooling and machining processes.

Ability to perform root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Hard Turning, Green Turning, Milling, Broaching, and Part Finishing.

Experience with Nachi robot controls.

Experience teaching or adjusting robot and gantry pickup points.

Knowledge of CNC lathe programming.

Automotive manufacturing experience.

High-volume production experience.

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay Rate: $27/hour

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Shift: 3rd Shift

Schedule: Sunday Night – Friday Morning (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Estimated Hours: 40-56 hours per week
