Staffworks Group is seeking CNC Setup Technician
3rd Shift
Responsible for CNC machine troubleshooting, updating tool paths, and completing setups for CNC lathes in a high-volume production environment. This role ensures machines are properly configured for efficient production and quality output.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CNC lathe setups, changeovers, and production startups
- Troubleshoot daily production and machine issues using root cause analysis techniques
- Update tool paths and make necessary programming adjustments
- Support production machine loading devices and resolve minor mechanical issues
- Replace indicators, tooling, and components as required for production changes
- Interpret and work from G-code and M-code programs
- Support robot and gantry pickup point teaching and adjustments as needed
- Maintain safe, efficient, and accurate machine operation in a high-volume environment
Required Skills
- Knowledge of machining processes including hard turning, green turning, milling, broaching, and part finishing
- Strong understanding of lathe tooling and CNC programming fundamentals
- Ability to teach robot and gantry pickup points
- Familiarity with Nachi robot controls
- General understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow
- Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators)
Required Experience
- 2–5 years of CNC lathe setup experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with CNC lathe machine setups and changeovers
- Ability to interpret G-code and M-code programs
- Strong troubleshooting skills using root cause analysis
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
