QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of experience servicing CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, Swiss-type machines, etc.) preferred
Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar), including basic PLC troubleshooting
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and mechanical drawings
Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Proficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, indicators, alignment equipment, etc.)
Familiarity with G-code/M-code and CNC machine operation is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in the field
Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers
Willingness and ability to travel frequently (regional or national), including overnight travel
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in industrial environments (standing, climbing, bending, etc.)
Basic computer skills for reporting, diagnostics, and communication (laptops, service software, Microsoft Office)
OSHA safety awareness; ability to follow all safety protocols and customer site requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

Install, commission, and test CNC machine tools at customer facilities, ensuring proper setup and operation to OEM specifications
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on CNC equipment (mills, lathes, Swiss-type machines, etc.)
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to maximize machine uptime and reliability
Troubleshoot CNC controls, including PLCs, drives, motors, and feedback systems
Interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and mechanical drawings to support accurate diagnostics and repairs
Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers, minimizing downtime and production loss
Calibrate and align machine components to maintain precision and performance standards
Train customer personnel on machine operation, maintenance procedures, and best practices
Document service activities, including detailed reports on work performed, parts used, and recommendations
Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, applications, parts) to resolve complex technical issues
Maintain service tools, test equipment, and company vehicle in proper working condition
Ensure compliance with all safety standards and customer site requirements
Travel to customer sites (regional or national) as required, often on short notice
