CNC Operator/Machinist-in-Training

Position Summary:
Superior Motion Controls is seeking individuals who want to join our precision-driven manufacturing team as CNC Operator and Machinist-in-Training. 40+ hours per week

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work closely with experienced Set up Machinists and operate various CNC machining centers to produce precision components per engineering specifications and drawings.
• On the job training to enhance skills for reading and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T specifications, and setup sheets.
• Learn to perform in-process inspections and finished parts inspections.
• Learn to select appropriate tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds to optimize productivity and part quality.
• Learn and execute routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Maintain documentation and records for production runs, tool usage, and machine setup parameters.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to improve machining processes and resolve technical challenges.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of recent hands-on experience in a CNC machining environment, with demonstrated experience in operating.
• Experience in the use of precision measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
• Understanding of material properties (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, tool steel) and cutting tool technology.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while consistently delivering high-quality results.
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or similar CNC control platforms preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand at a machining workstation for extended periods.
• Capability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
• Must be physically able to navigate the warehouse and access inventory at various heights.
